Competency management, created by Sorwe, was designed flexibly, allowing it to function in conjunction with performance measurements or as a standalone feature.
This application is crucial in empowering companies that do not operate on a goal-based structure.
Rather than focusing on specific goals and objectives, our competency management system encourages employees to perform based on their competencies. This approach emphasizes the importance of the unique skills, knowledge, and abilities that each employee brings to the table.
Creating a Competency Review Template
To create a new template, go to Talent & Performance > Competency Management.
Click the Create New button in the green box.
Fill in the template name and description fields.
Choose your target sources.
Set your target period.
You can add competencies manually or via Excel. Let's see how to add them manually.
Fill in the fields related to your competencies and sub-competencies. You can add more than one competency and sub-competency.
Answer Options
You can follow 2 different methods in answer options.
1. Scale from 1 to 5
2. Multiple choice answers
You can also edit the score range that corresponds to the 1 to 5 scale.
In multiple-choice answers, you can edit the answer option and set the corresponding score range.
Review Flow
The review flow can be conducted in 3 distinct methods. You can select more than one option.
You can start the competence evaluation process with the employee's self-evaluation.
You can enable managers to evaluate employees on their teams. (This is the main purpose.)
HR can add notes or action plans to the evaluation form for competencies. When this option is enabled, the evaluation will not be completed until the HR approval.
Other Options
If you want the employee and manager to be able to view the overall score and sub-competency scores of the competency evaluation on the form, keep the Display Score option turned on.
If you are finished with your edits, click the Save button.
So you have created the main template. This template has not been forwarded to anyone yet. Now go to the form creation section and forward it.
Creating Form Groups
Go to Form Groups
Enter the name of the form you created in the main template and select who it will be directed to.
You have added all the competencies to the main template. Select the competencies and sub-competences that will be evaluated for the group you have selected.
Enter the score weights of the competencies.
Save the form with the Save button. It will not be sent to employees yet.
You can direct it to employees with the Start button.
When it starts, depending on the settings you made in the review flow, the form (assuming you have selected all the options) will first be sent to the employee, then to the manager, and finally to HR for approval.
